“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – A. A. Milne
I firmly believe my life began and will end with writing. I cannot count the amount of journals, scraps of paper, iPhone notes, word documents, etc. that have been filled with my words, ideas, stories, and dreams. What used to be a hobby, an after school activity or before-bed journal entry, soon became a staple in my life – and eventually there wasn’t a day that went by where I wasn’t caught up in imaginary worlds that I’d created with my two greatest weapon’s: pen & paper. Even as technology advances and I began blogging, typing word docs, or saving notes throughout the day in my phone, I’ve always reverted back to the days I began writing with a purple journal and a new colored pen each day.
Not only am I one to get lost in my writing, I get lost in the world of books as well. From my childhood years of reading Amelia Bedelia and Winnie-the-Pooh, to my high school years with Of Mice and Men, The Great Gatsby and To Kill a Mockingbird, then on to college where I fell in love with Frankenstein and poems by Wordsworth I’ve lived through the lives of countless characters. All the while, I’d been inspired to make the same impact on readers as my favorite authors have done to me.
If you’ve found this blog and love reading and writing the way I do, then you’re in the right place. You’ll find short stories, poems that have accumulated over the years, and even a weekly chapter from one of my first (soon-to-be/hopefully-to-be) published novels.
